Sustainable production at Apnée
At Apnée, we believe it's possible to create beautiful, sustainable, and environmentally friendly pieces. That's why, since our creation, we've embraced responsible production and an ethical approach at every stage of our product design.
A COLLECTION PER YEAR FOR BETTER PRODUCTION
In a move against the growth of fast fashion, we've chosen to produce only one collection per year. This pace allows us to better control our environmental impact, design high-quality pieces, and adhere to a more thoughtful and responsible creative process.
In addition, we have chosen a local production in Europe (mainly in Portugal), in order to promote ethical working conditions and short production circuits.
A MAJOR CHALLENGE: PLASTIC MICROFIBERS
At the moment, no textile material can completely eliminate the release of plastic microfibers in swimwear design. Indeed, polyester, even recycled one, still releases residue into the water during washing.
RECYCLED AND NATURAL MATERIALS
To limit our impact, our swim shorts are made from 100% recycled plastic, including fishing nets and plastic bottles recovered from the oceans. This approach not only gives existing materials a second life, but also limits the production of new plastics.
Our linen comes from Belgium, grown in Europe without pesticides or artificial irrigation, which considerably reduces its ecological impact.
APNEE, A RESPONSIBLE CHOICE
At Apnée, every choice is guided by a single desire: to reconcile style and environmental awareness. By choosing our swimsuits and beachwear, you're supporting a more responsible and forward-looking fashion.
