Autumn ... A season marked by the start of the school year, the obligation to get dressed again , the reunion with the metro for some, but also the drop in temperatures ... It's not always easy to know what clothes to wear when mid-season also has reservations its share of surprises (cold mornings, hot afternoons, sun, rain, wind). Autumn is the ideal opportunity to give pride of place to multitasking pieces , easy to take off, wear and put on, with comfortable and preferably eco-responsible materials.
At Apnée , designing beautiful clothes in which we feel good has always been our priority. To extend the adventure beyond summer, and accompany your winter walks, we decided to create a simple, refined, ethical autumn wardrobe . You will find beautiful eco-designed pieces, well cut, made in Portugal, in beautiful recycled, natural and comfortable materials.

Do you know the basic rule of three layers?
Well known to hikers, to properly insulate yourself against the cold , you must apply the rule of 3 layers of clothing:
- a windproof and/or waterproof layer : it blocks wind and rain,
- an insulating layer : it contains plenty of air heated by your body, therefore insulating you,
- a base layer : close to the body, it keeps you warm, avoids contact with the scratchy sweater and wicks away moisture.
The basic not to be missed
If you don't plan to do any physical activity, a cotton t-shirt will do the job very well to keep you warm close to your body and wick away moderate humidity. At Apnée, we offer a palette of 8 colors of organic cotton t-shirts . For this Apnea wardrobe essential, we have chosen a classic cut and quality cotton jersey that does not deform over time.
Getting warm: are you more of a sweatshirt or sweater?
The sweatshirt, and its hooded cousin the hoodie, are THE ideal mid-season transition pieces . Comfortable and casual, it works very well under a parka when it's cool, and is sufficient on its own when the temperatures are milder. Our Apnée sweatshirts are made in Portugal in organic cotton jersey , enveloping without being too thick. We offer two cuts, one close to the body and the other looser, in soft fall colors that are easy to match . The little extra of our hoodies , the zipped collar which gives versatility and allows you to play with color contrasts while revealing the layer underneath.
As lovers of the oceans, we also wanted to revisit a classic of the nautical wardrobe. This is how our Jack sailor sweater was born in homage to the famous freediver Jacques Mayol. We chose 100% merino wool from Italy for its insulating and breathable qualities, its softness and above all the fact that it does not itch. The little extra of this sweater, its loose, more modern cut and its recycled neoprene pocket .
How to choose your parka?
When autumn sets in and the air becomes more humid, even very humid, we immediately think of a parka. The parka is originally an Inuit garment designed for extreme cold. Today, this term has very varied functionalities that meet different needs.
At Apnée, we have created a mid-season parka that is both functional and elegant . Perfectly suited for fall and spring, some even wear it in winter with a big warm sweater underneath. Thanks to its 100% recycled water-repellent fabric and its double closure system, it will perfectly insulate you from the wind and protect you from light rain (be careful, it is not a raincoat and cannot withstand heavy rain). Its plus, allows you to recycle the equivalent of 25 recycled plastic bottles , which will delight ocean lovers.

Last autumn swims
What could be more enjoyable than enjoying the last rays of the sun before entering winter once and for all? In Dinard at the beginning of October, the weather was still good for swimming. Sébastien took the opportunity to dive into the waves in his 100% recycled Enzo swim shorts , happy to put on his 100% merino wool Jack sweater next to his body when leaving the water.
Walks by the sea
For ocean lovers, there is no question of staying huddled by the fire in winter, you have to breathe the sea air, be in contact with nature. For this, it is better to go out covered.
